A finished apartment, not a room with a bed in it. Between 525 and 772 square feet depending on the unit, with a separate bedroom, a real living room, and a kitchen you can cook in.
The bedroom has a queen bed, a dresser with a mirror, nightstands and lamps on both sides. The living room has a sofa, a recliner, a coffee table and a television. The kitchen runs an electric range, a full size refrigerator and a dishwasher, and the cabinets are already stocked with pots, pans, knives, forks and plates. There is a washer and dryer in the unit, not down a hall and not coin operated.
We also put in the small things people forget until they need them. A vacuum. An ironing board. A coffee maker on the counter. Towels and linens on day one. Someone arrives with a suitcase and a laptop bag and does not need a Target run before bed.
Electricity, water, cable TV and internet are on before you get there and billed to us. Nobody opens a Duke Energy account for a stay that ends in five months.
$2,200 a month, all utilities included
That works out near $72 a day. Extended stay hotels around Greenville often land in the same range for a single room with a kitchenette, which is where the comparison stops being close. A hotel gives you a microwave and a bar fridge. This gives you a stove, an oven, a dishwasher and a laundry closet.
The saving that actually shows up is food. Three bought meals a day for a three month assignment adds up to more than most people estimate, and it never appears in the housing line of a budget. Cooking two of those three at home changes the number quickly. So does not spending a Saturday morning at a laundromat.
Most of our one bedroom guests arrive alone for a defined stretch of work. Travel nurses on 13 week contracts, usually at Prisma Health Hillcrest right here in Simpsonville or Greenville Memorial about 20 minutes up I-385. Superintendents and project managers on a build. Consultants and auditors rotating through for a quarter. People relocating for a job who want to learn the Upstate before they commit to buying in it.
It also works for a couple, particularly one traveling with a dog. What it is not built for is a family with kids or two colleagues who need their own doors. That is what the furnished two bedroom apartments are for.
If your stay is tied to a hospital contract, our page on furnished housing for healthcare professionals covers the details that matter to medical staff specifically.
100 Garden District Dr in Simpsonville, SC 29681. One community, which is unusual in this business and is the reason the standard holds up. Lori manages the property, and she is who you deal with from the first call through move out. Maintenance is on site rather than a contractor who might get there Thursday.
Simpsonville sits in the middle of the Upstate's work. Mauldin and Fountain Inn are about ten minutes. Downtown Greenville and the Michelin campus run roughly twenty. The BMW plant and the Greer corridor are twenty five to thirty. Spartanburg and Anderson are near forty, Travelers Rest about thirty five. GSP airport is about twenty five, which matters if you fly home every other weekend.
Our office is separate, at 514 NE Main St in Simpsonville. Call (864) 963-1005 and we will tell you what is open.
